HISTORICAL-PHOTOGRAPHIC CATALOGUING
The experience Alinari gained during the years invested in the planning and creating of the computerized systems and the creation of a cataloguing and research system is unique in its
field.
Alinari makes available its experience, its highly specialized personnel in the sector of cataloguing and planning catalographic
systems, the partnerships with specialized firms, so that it can offer standardized or extremely personalized solutions for all cataloguing
requirements.
Historical-photographic entry cards: thanks to its experience in the field of Photography and the advice of top experts in the History of Photography (of note collaboration with the University of
Venice), Alinari has formulated a cataloguing system that covers all the needs of
Photography. The cataloguing system also allows for the correct cataloguing of images of any type of
subject, including those of a historical-artistic nature for which an easily compiled “work entry card” has been prepared. The cataloguing system was validated by the Istituto Centrale del Catalogo e della Documentazione of the Ministry of Cultural Assets and
Activities.
Thesaurus (Tree of iconographic Classification ©®) with over 8,000 key words organized in 64 primary classes from Agriculture to Zoology. The thesaurus was prepared in collaboration with the University of Florence and with the committee of experts in the field. Alinari offers the license for the Thesauruses in the fields of Iconography, Geography, Period and Style, Type of Work.
Cataloguing and research software make it possible to manage the enormous amount of data with incredibly reduced access times, while the use and management can be accessed in remote mode. The cataloguing system is organized for multilingual management.
